![]() On this day, one year ago, the youngest Bauson was born at home. I still can't believe I had my perfect dream birth. Before my homebirth experience, I had often heard women saying that the births of their children left them feeling strong, and powerful. While my other children's births were definitely life changing, and awe inspiring, I never felt that "I am woman, hear me roar" empowerment that you so often hear about. After having two children (one by c-section, one vaginally) I assumed that perhaps I wasn't someone who could experience something like that; everyone experiences birth differently, and maybe that raw moment of empowerment wasn't in the cards for me. I was wrong.
I still feel empowered by Jackson's birth. If I'm faced with a difficult task I often think, "I gave birth, I can do this". It was an amazing experience, and I am so happy that I was able to share it with not only my husband (who is my best friend), but also my best girlfriends, Kinsie and Jen. Happy Birthday Jackson Boone. You are an amazing little boy. I am so proud to be your mother.
