Today we took Manny to kindergarten for the first time! It wasn't his first learning day however, that is tomorrow, today was orientation.

There are 32 kids in his class (and each kid had one or two adults with him/her), so it is completely understandable that he was a little apprehensive when we first walked in. Once we entered the room, we found his table and he calmed down a bit.

Shortly after everyone was settled, the students were taken outside to play, while the parents got one on one time with the teachers. We learned a little bit about what would be happening during the school year - snack days, the classroom mascot, parent volunteers, etc.

First "test": cut out a circle and draw a face on the circle. I'm helping out by writing his name on the back of the circle.

All done! You could tell by looking at the faces which kids like to draw, and which ones don't. Manny has never been a fan of drawing. It requires complete concentration, and sitting too long in one spot. He'd much rather be running.
