I know that the world is supposedly suppose to end in 2012, but at this point it seems like a welcomed change from the current state of affairs in the Bauson household. Let us recount what has happened thus far in 2011: - John's brother, Ral, passed away - John's mother entered a care facility (retirement home) because of an infection in her hip. She is still there at this moment in time and will be there for another several months. - Our house in San Bruno went into foreclosure. - Our car got repossessed. - I broke my leg. The only All this, and it isn't even mid-year yet. And now, because 2011 hasn't been exciting enough, we found out today that the home that we are renting (because our "real" home was being foreclosed on) is in....FORECLOSURE! ![]() Early last week a Notice of Trustee's Sale sign appeared on our front door. I called John in a panic letting him know. He, in turn, called our land lord (who is also a real estate agent), and was told not to worry. Apparently our land lord was "pushing" the bank and trying to get the loan modified. John was told that everything was under control. Okay...fine...no problem. Fast forward to today - I hear the all too familiar sound of a post being hammered into the ground. Upon further investigation I see that a For Sale sign has been placed in front of our rental home. ![]() I call John, who calls our land lord, who informs John that yes, the home is in foreclosure and there will be a short sale. John then gets a call from the real estate agent who is selling the home (who just so happens to work for the same real estate company as our land lord) who tells John that the house will be shown starting next week. I, of course, did not hear the phone call, but from what John told me, the Agent wants us to make sure our house is clean. Right. Lemme go clean the house that we're being kicked out of - I'll get right on that. My first reaction was to cry...a lot. And now I'm just pissed. He obviously knew the house was in foreclosure two months ago. How could you let a family of five move into a home when you knew there was a possibility that you wouldn't own it in two months time? I mean really? Who the hell does that? So...what now? There are several possibilities: 1) One thing is for sure is that our lease is a binding contract, whoever buys the home has to let us stay here until the agreement is up in September. 2) Another investor could buy the home and let us stay here (this is best case scenario and what we're hoping for, but come on, we're The Bauson's, lady luck is NOT on our side). 3) A home owner could buy the home...in this case we'd probably be offered a sum of money to move out before the end of our lease agreement. If this happens, you can bet your ass we won't be asking for a small amount of cash. I want some money for emotional distress god dammit.
